8.3.2009: LTAP in Action! Based on intructions Roadmaster Steve Carey recieved from LTAP personnel, the township now has the equipment to calculate appropriate speed limits. Also, based on LTAP suggestions, River Road/Hollow Road intersection will
be re painted, with lanes narrowed slightly, to 9' wide lanes, to incourage speed reduction in this area.

1/26/2009  On Thursday, January 29 at 7:30 in the Public Meeting Room, personnel from LTAP's Local Safe Roads Program will review their report for LTAP assisted road improvements with the public. Those who attended prior LTAP meetings especially invited to attend.

10/20/2008 As of April 30, 08 the Township was selected to participe in Penn DOT LTAP’s Local Safe Roads Program. The below sites were selected to receive safety assistance, based on discussion with planning commission members, local residents, and state police representatives.

10/21/2008 Roadmaster Steve Carey reports: " Todd Trautz of Pennoni Engineering visited the sites and compiled a report and recommendations, which are in draft form going through agency approval. Todd expects to send the report and recommendations to us by the end of this week."Supervisor Brian Barrett is responsible to coordinate these projects.

The selected sites are:

1. Fawn Road/Winding Brook Road (T507) (intersection)
2. Reservoir Road (curves north of Brushy Mtn Road)
3. Airport Road (T536)/Milford Road (SR 209) (intersection sight distance, considering truck traffic)
4. Kings Pond Road (T531)/Brushy Mtn Road (T512) (intersection)
5. Mt Nebo Road (T526) (curves between Buttermilk Falls Road and Township boundary/SR 209)
6. Village of Shawnee:
a. River Road (local)/Hollow Road (SR 10), intersection corner sight distance
b. River Road (local T663)/T529, intersection corner sight distance, parked cars
c. Hollow Road (SR10)/Church Road (T515) (intersection)
7. River Road (T633) (from SR 10 past golf course, speed, sidewalks)
8. Franklin Hill Road (T659) (curves)
9. Craig’s Meadow Road (T652) (curve north of Golf Course entrance).
